Robyn knew she wanted to become a hairdresser at a young age. She opened her first salon in the comfort of her living room at age 5, where she welcomed all clients with sponge rollers and barrettes. As she got older, she followed her dream of becoming a stylist when she enrolled at the Aveda Institute of Chapel Hill in 2008. Since then her talent and passion has grown tremendously. Robyn loves the opportunity to express her natural artistic talent by finding new ways to change up a style or color service. This is why she loves the Balayage technique, because she feels that it allows her to showcase her artistic ability through painting an individualized canvas to meet each client’s desires. As our resident curly haired stylist, she loves the opportunity to share styling tips and solutions, such as our smoothing systems, with other wild maned folks. Although cutting has always been her first love, she enjoys the instant gratification of pairing a great cut and style with the perfect color service.
As PLUM’s lead Apprenticeship Educator, Robyn enjoys sharing her knowledge with those newer to the beauty industry by teaching classes and mentoring PLUM’s newest team members. Through her past experiences of shadowing Michael Gordon, working backstage with Nick Arrojo, attending Oribé classes, and Bumble & Bumble cutting and educator seminars, she brings great value to both our team and guests.
